      Pros

      The fame of working for an mRNA pioneer is magnetic.

      Cons

      Working for this place is a quick route to burnout and depression. They refuse to hire enough resources to do the work required, and most colleagues I worked with were having to see multiple therapists and pop pills just to survive. Management has no heart. CEO celebrates those who missed family funerals and weddings in order to sacrifice for Moderna. Stay away.

      Good learning opportunity from senior management working as scientist.

      Cons

      Toxic workplace and gossip culture. No depth of talent. Provides only money on name of benefits. No care of employee. Manager intrusive in personal life.

      Toxic and chaotic

      Pros

      Amazing science and pipeline, very easy to get excited about the products and technology. Very smart people, and when it comes to "boots on the ground" they are for the most part team players who care about one another. Pay and benefits are good. Name recognition opens a lot of doors.

      Cons

      Toxic leadership that starts at the very top. Yes-men/women are promoted, everyone else either leaves or is forced out. You have to do an inordinate amount of self promotion and positive messaging to do well here, internal forecasts are a mess of everyone lying to themselves and others. There is no personal development or internal promotion, but there is a TON of manufactured urgency and self-inflicted wounds due to everything being done in a hurry. Very few colleagues with tenure past 3 years, and it's not only because the company is growing and hiring (that's what they tell you) - in fact most people either leave, are fired, on go on long-term sick leave due to burnout and stress-related illness after about 2 years. Don't know anyone at this company that isn"t currently job-searching wanting to leave the chaos.
