Could be better

Pros

- Good amount of overtime depending on where you are. - Internal job bidding system based on seniority, decent vertical mobility - Union - Heavily safety oriented, you as an operator are able to request a safety review at anytime for what you're doing if you feel unsafe, without punishment

Cons

- Could be forced to move from your area to a different one temporarily based on needs of the company. - Being a union job, sometimes bad people are protected and continue to be an issue. - Subpar benefits - Schedules can be very bad, majority of jobs are 7x3, 7x2, 6x3, (Days on x Days off) and worse

Poor future for IT team

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Work remotely always if can fake your reason to HR. Easy work, elaborate small work like you have landed on moon. Good salary hike, fast and easy promotion just working hard for 2 months only in a year, anyone can get promotion every 1.5-2 years. no performance consistency needed for year. You will getting lots of awards for small work that even a developer will not like to do or see value in learning

Cons

Not a company to work for long time. 2 yars is good, support work of 7 days 24 hrs. New technologies replaced by old now. Zero learning if you wabt to work technically. As small work gets communicated as a big challenge, there is only simple work you get and no learning for future career. Lots of politics and preferences by HR and Management

Toxic politics

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Didn’t see anything because filled with politics

Cons

We’ve noticed a lot of partiality in WFH rules across GSS. The finance team is allowed to work from home from anywhere they want, but for the Business Services team, there’s unnecessary strictness—especially if we go to our hometowns. This is creating a lot of frustration, and many people have left the org because of such toxic politics. The Business Services manager is making the workplace very negative, and it’s evident to everyone. On top of that, most of our team leads (like COE or Supply Chain leads) don’t even know the process properly. They’re just there for name sake—we don’t see any value in reporting to them. We are more than ready to report directly to stakeholders or even local leaders (like the Supply Chain leader for India). This way, work will be smoother, and we won’t need unnecessary layers of management who don’t add any value. This is affecting team morale badly, and if this continues, more people will leave. Request you to look into this seriously and make fair policies for all teams.
