Pros

I enjoy working here. Working environment is very supportive and friendly which makes being at work and doing my job so much easier. The company offers great benefits as well, generous PTO and 401K match.

Cons

Too many reporting units at many different locations can be challenging and overwhelming for newcomers.

Pros

Coworkers are great. Close knit teams. Client interactions are rewarding, and you learn an incredible amount. Almost unlimited county linked training if it's relevant to your role. Excellent benefits and the best pay for this field in this area. Unionized positions for direct care staff.

Cons

No formal qualifications for managers. Some of middle managers don't understand basic concepts like: don't micromanage, inspire enthusiasm in your employees, respect your employees intelligence/experience/qualifications, don't deliberately and obviously favor certain employees and hold others to unrealistic and contradictory standards. Don't create environments that feel so hostile employees choose to leave. Some managers create a hostile work environment leading to HR complaints, union assistance and cases, and inevitably turnover of employees lacking support. HR has protected this behavior from managers for 30+ years in every previous organization that MMH has evolved into. It's like the Catholic Church - when one manager (like a priest) causes "too many problems", they (HR) simply transfer them to another work site, rather than addressing the systemic issues at hand. This attitude drives away valuable employees.

Momentum for Health Response

This former employee did complain to management about her supervisor, and those concerns were promptly investigated and responded to. The claim that Momentum is "like the Catholic Church" in some way in terms of not listening to or responding to an employee's concerns is a strange comment and not at all true of the agency. Momentum has many long term employees and managers who know there is an open door policy in terms of raising any concern with a supervisor's supervisor, or anyone else in management, and that all such concerns are taken seriously, investigated and appropriately addressed. We are glad this person enjoyed the client interaction, training and benefits here, and wish this person success and happiness in their next careermove.
