Pros

Helping clients, admins are great, other staff are often great.

Cons

Low pay and high workload. Employees go along with the flow and shut up. There was about 70% employee turnover over 10 months in our area). Expected to cover a huge area and no one cares how you do it or when. Very poor client service due to excessive turn over. Several people in other agencies told me to find another job before leaving. They said that Monarch's reputation was good in government and "crap" with other mental health field.

Pros

Monarch has a progressive outlook on disability field. They focus on being person-centered and helping the individual receiving the services achieve their goals rather than what's convenient for the company. They provide ample trainings, promote from within, and leadership truly tries to be available for input on how to make things better. The organization is widespread throughout the state and offers many different job titles with different specialties and responsibilities and the recruiters try hard to fit you into interviews for jobs you'd be most happy with. Lots of benefits offered, including part time health insurance (before it was "cool"), mileage reimbursement, paid trainings, holiday PTO, and more perks depending on the position. Great opportunity for entry-level folks to gain experience in the field and move up.

Cons

The initial application process can be a little daunting The organization expects you to bring your A-game - cannot get away with being lazy The pay rate is a little lower than other agencies (but not enough to honestly feel a difference when you do the math, and they make up for it with the benefits)
