Pros

MoneyGram is a business that really offers its employees the ability to develop their skills and challenge themselves in a way that most other global businesses are not able to. With only 2,500 employees you find that there is a lack of silos which enable you to really get involved in projects and work with leaders in a way that would just not be feasible in other large businesses. Your work is able to be recognized at a senior level due to the relatively small size but due to the large geo scope across a far broader audience. MoneyGram is the sort of place that even if you are only there for 3 years you will pick up more skills, get exposed to more projects and have a diversity that will make you more employable in a large institution later in your career. MoneyGram has a very good work life balance and appreciates that their employees when not working really need to switch off (many is the time my boss has told me to turn off my phone after hours). It has a good benefits package based on its size and revenues and whilst not the same as a big bank, I can confirm that after being in that world the work life balance at MoneyGram far outstrips its other bigger named counterparts in FS.

Cons

MoneyGram is not perfection, but where is. It is a business that wants to achieve and push itself. This in turn can lead to it setting goals that are not always achievable and this can see projects get moved, changed or frozen. In addition due to its desire to drive itself, it can sometimes really set challenging goals and targets which sees its employees pulling out all the stops to deliver and this is where its lean infrastructure putting extra pressure on its staff.
