Pros

Talented folks on the team, awesome CEO Good future potential for becoming a big company with a very important technology Great valuation progress if you have a meaningful stock option grant

Cons

The company feels much too top heavy for this size of company with 3 "Chairmen/Vice Chairman", a CEO and a CTO/Co-Founder who kind of acts like another Chairman/CEO NY/CA co-HQ is not ideal - it is a way to get a little better talent maybe for a few positions early on but I think may have caused more harm than helped Because the company is high-profile, they are attracting talent that has done the same jobs (or bigger jobs before) before so opportunities for advancement for others are quite limited for those already here except more junior promotions The culture includes vocal complaining by various folks about the smallest of issues

Pros

Great team of very smart people and an exciting environment to work in with a great product. Decent compensation packages and some focus on work life balance

Cons

Long hours and expected to work out of hours. Benefits package is the bare minimum, could do with improving. Highly changeable environment which can cause some uncertainty in certain areas of the business.

Pros

Great technology, developer and market adoption and market leadership. Product is very easy to install and configure for basic use cases but needs to mature to meet claims of trud web scalability.

Cons

Exec positions are somewhat of a clique, most being filled by former MarkLogic execs. They seem to be making some of the same missteps at MongoDB. Also, product direction is set exclusively by the founder and current CTO. Senior level product managers will have a very difficult time making an impact and will spend most of their time on junior level activities. Also, despite claim of being supportive of remote employees, the culture is not conducive for those working outside of the New York office, specifically when it comes to key business areas such as product management and development.
