MongoDB is a truly special place and my only complaint is that I did not know about Mongo earlier in my career. If you like to work hard, solve interesting problems, and work with others who like to work hard and are truly invested in their work, Mongo is a fantastic place to be.

Cons

This isn't necessarily a con for the right person, but there is a lot of inspection at MongoDB. This is true for most departments. We are a high growth technology company so an attitude of 'rest and vest' is not welcome here. Your performance will always be inspected. You will always know what's going well and what's not going well. There is a strong bias to action and this bias requires a lot of energy to maintain.
