Pros
MongoDB is a great product. There are plenty of engineers who love it and prioritize it as a tool for all new applications. There is a super high earnings potential here, complemented by a great competitive sales culture. Here, good inputs get rewarded with better opportunities, which isn't true of many sales roles.
Cons
Not all, but many leaders tend to micromanage. There is poor (no) training for new roles when you get internally promoted from one IC role to another. Selling on consumption instead of on commitment leads to significantly longer runways to make money, but if you stick around and hit a hot streak with a key account you can have historic years.
