Pros

Good product, a lot of resources

Cons

Bad pay, over worked, if you hit 140% of your number likely getting OTE bc of a team nwl portion of quota that is insanely high

Pros

I worked here a year ago so things may have changed but they do take care of their employees, have unlimited PTO. Loved the emphasis on Training and continuous improvement of your skills as a rep. The vast majority of people I worked with were kind, helpful and ambitious.lunches were catered. Working at MongoDB really does open many doors- this to me is the biggest pro and I recommend those fresh out out of college and or career changers looking to get into to tech sales start here given the training foundation but also to leave for a better/ higher paying SDR or AE role. I can say firsthand that having it on my resume did help open the door to many other opportunities. Do close to a year or couple years here and then leave is my advice!

Cons

Most/all of the sales dev leadership such as managers, regional manager and the director when I was there had never sold MongoDB. Not exactly a con but it can be challenging for them to relate to the challenges and the day to day of the people they manage. Selling can be technical. Not necessarily a con but for some folks it may be. Nobody’s passionate about databases so you’ll need to find motivation from other aspects of the job such as helping customers or becoming skilled in sales. Sales Leadership (at the time I was there) and the director (JL) was very full of it and pretty robotic. A lot of broken promises and things were always changing!!!! I get that it’s a tech company and that the company is fast growing but many changes were due to poor leadership. Certain polices would take up a whole day of a reps time but then would be erased the next month. I started to take every announcement or procedure with a grain of salt because in a few weeks or next quarter it would change. Most of the managers came from oracle but complained about oracle which I thought was funny because if the majority of the leadership is from there then doesn’t that inherit some of that culture. Lastly- the reason I left- there is so much politics and a lack of meritocracy for qouta performance and promotions. ADRs often got opps handed to them by AEs which is unethical for many reasons. This was rampant yet no cared. This was extremely demotivating for those who worked extremely hard only to be behind those who cheated.
