Pros

* Management tries very hard to have an open, honest atmosphere where people can be their authentic selves * Opinions are valued, and everyone seems ready to teach you something new * Managers are very understanding of the need for free time * Leadership gave the option for permanent remote work in as many roles as they could just because it helped some work better * Excellent training opportunities and mobility for anything within the company * The company values all over the website and company swag are progressive and are actually intended to be lived every day

Cons

* Past history of high-pressure management and revolving door in sales, though that seems to have changed * Company is not yet profitable but is making great strides in that direction * Fully-remote work is still new, so there are some kinks still to work out * If you are an extreme social conservative, this may not be the place for you, sorry - the company values are *very* progressive by some standards

Pros

Cool office that no one is using right now, the MongoDB name

Cons

Management/leadership does not value or listen to their individual contributor employees. Used to be great, but just not a good experience anymore, cliquish groups, manager hard to work with, and since the CTO stepped down things have been going progressively downhill, my advice to anyone considering the role, keep looking.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback; we respect your concerns. Our goal is to ensure that everyone has a positive experience at MongoDB. It’s important to us that every employee at MongoDB feels valued, respected, and heard by their managers. After nearly 13 years with the company, our co-founder Eliot Horowitz stepped down as CTO in mid-July but he continues to serve as technical advisor to MongoDB. We are excited that Mark Porter joined as our new CTO on July 20th to help lead our teams as they further develop our technology and products. We look forward to the contribution that Mark will make to our company. We are continuously working to create a culture of growth, inclusivity, learning, and development. Several of the ways we do this is through providing support, coaching, enablement, and training for all employees and feedback is a key part of this process. If you would be open to sharing more about your experiences, please get in touch with our Employer Brand Manager, jess.katz@mongodb.com.
