No Work Life Balance

Pros

I think it really depends what you want out of a job. If you care about having top tier clients and industry respect, this is a great place for you. The company is expanding rapidly and are at the forefront of innovations such as Web3. It's a very global company so you get to work with people from all over. There's great benefits (WFH compensation, free therapy, you don't pay for health insurance, etc). They pay really well. With all their top tier clients, they have money. They really try to have team/company bonding and team spirit (however, if you are bogged down w/ work and stressed, the last thing you're interested in is another team happy hour. How about we actually change the work culture and not just put icing on a depressing situation?) Working from home during the pandemic is great. They've been doing a great job staying abreast w/ everything that has been going on with COVID

Cons

- There is absolutely no sense of work life balance. Working with those big clients come with a price and that price is your mental health (hence why they provide a lot of offerings for mental health and career coaching). I've had at least 2 panic attacks working there and I've only been there for 6 months... - The company is growing so rapidly that no one knows what's going on from a structure perspective. I attended the career coach sessions and they mentioned that literally everyone is confused about the company structure. - During the interview they mentioned opportunities to move within the company and setting up a funnel if you're interested in another part of the business. However, that in fact doesn't fully exist "yet" according to HR. This is extremely misleading especially because people come to this company expecting to do one thing and their role is completely different. I am currently trying to switch trajectories and it's just been very uninspiring process - Managers are so busy and bogged down that they are not mentoring or supporting their teams. I've had 3 managers since I've been here and I feel like none of them really attempted to learn who I am, my interests, or my career goals - Job titles are misleading. Producers are really project managers. It's not a creative role at all. I've never been so far from creative in my entire career.

Pros

There's plenty of opportunity to gain experience, up level your skills base, work with different and interesting people, but ...

Cons

... The company needs a LOT more structure and I’m not sure they fully comprehend the pricing and talent dynamics and variables of the business in which they're engaged.

Pros

The main reason to work in Media.Monks (especially for java developers) is opportunity to work on adobe experience manager. It really broadens the mind.

Cons

Not clearly suitable for java developers who had worked on Spring framework.
