Pros

What I value the most about working at Monks is the people. The team is collaborative, supportive, and genuinely interested in growing together. You also feel encouraged to develop your career in the direction you want—there’s space to explore and support along the way.

Cons

One area that could be improved is salary transparency. There’s no publicly available documentation that outlines salary bands based on seniority, which makes it difficult to understand if you're being compensated fairly. Promotions and salary adjustments can feel unclear, as they’re often based on your current salary rather than a defined band for your new role. This lack of visibility can make career growth feel more complicated than it should be.

Zemoga was better before

Pros

I worked here as a contractor. The pay was good, and Walmart was a great client to work with. In my experience with the client’s team, the biggest perk was the strong work-life balance, thanks to their supportive culture.

Cons

I was disappointed by how quickly and drastically the company changed my contract. From one day to the next, they removed my PTO benefits—no more paid vacation, sick leave, or any kind of leave unless it was deducted from my salary. Under the new contract, I had no right to any paid time off. The way they treat contractors is very poor. They even refused to issue a basic work certificate, simply because I was a contractor. Payment dates were also changed—from the end of the month to two weeks later—without clear communication or support. When you ask questions, there's no one to turn to. The standard response is, “I’m not the right person for this,” and you're left without answers. As contractors, it feels like HR doesn’t exist for us. I was even told directly by someone in HR: “Sign the new contract with no PTO, or leave the company.” This situation took a toll on my mental health. There’s constant anxiety and uncertainty, especially now that Walmart—Monks’ biggest client—is requiring employees to return to their headquarters. No one really knows what the future holds, and unfortunately, Monks (formerly Zemoga) seems quick to let people go when they're no longer assigned to a client. In conclusion, Zemoga used to be a great company, but ever since it was acquired by Monks, the work culture has significantly deteriorated. I strongly encourage others to think twice before joining. To my friends still there—run while you can. I know many of you, both direct employees in Colombia and international contractors, are hoping to move on. I sincerely wish you all the best in your job search.

Pros

Working at Monks provides me with the flexibility to balance my work and life. The possibility to work remotely provides a good balance, and there are also some perks like health insurance and internet reimbursement that help a lot

Cons

Career growth has been such a challenge in recent years.
