Pros

A lot of change has occurred in the past year due to the exit of former dev leadership, and this has removed many of the animosities and shadow decision-making that often left people in the dark or otherwise uncertain as to state of systems and approach. The current leadership team is open-door and engaging when providing support to accomplish development goals or when listening to concerns. I have never been denied a meeting when requested. It is a great atmosphere to work in with a respectful appreciation for the strengths all team members bring to the table. The team members are mature developers with a healthy understanding of the technology stack and contemporary architecture patterns. The tech stack is evolving to meet the needs of our customers, and all team members play a part in both design and implementation efforts. The resulting collaboration along with positive attitudes of the different teams make it a joy to come to work and produce great products that are cutting-edge in the hospitality industry.

Cons

I don't have any particular cons. It is a small dev team but we are hiring at the time of this post. Pay and benefits are competitive. Employees have a positive attitude and are willing to work to accomplish goals. It is not a big company so there are a limited number of job titles one can achieve. But accomplishment brings merit through leadership's and peers' active recognition of efforts, so satisfaction can be realized.

Pros

Wide variety of products and projects to work on, including working on and building for the latest technology. Convenient work hours and friendly employees made coming into the office easy. Some really interesting product ideas coming out of here.

Cons

Poor communication. The last 3 months there it felt like the lights were going to be turned off at any moment. Leadership said nothing during this time to any employees about what was going on behind closed doors. Alot of times things felt like everything was on fire. If a client requested something done, employees were to drop all regular work and jump on fixing whatever was wrong, regardless of if it was necessary, fit into the project scope, or made sense as a company to implement. Custom development work that ended up creating more problems rather than solving any was the norm. Over the course of a year, almost every woman hired during that timeframe fired, or harassed out of the building. Lewd comments and aggressive behavior here is common. The company tolerates and even thrives on this behavior, promoting the men who perpetuate this culture to different leadership positions and running their accusers out the door. Some former employees were promised raises or bonuses and never received them. On compensation in general, if an employee had a friend in management, they were paid way above the average for their job title versus if they were hired outside the circle. People were promoted and moved around internally with little regard to their experience or competence and received large raises at the same time. The cycle of nepotism and incompetent management made focusing on the work hard and demoralizing.
