Students are great. Most staff are professional in your face and cordial. Self- care is encouraged.

Cons

Salary sucks. My salary posting was declined because it is "well below the industry standard." Yes, it is. There is also a lack of autonomy given in your role so that means no growth.

Yearly cost of living adjustments, step increases according to contract.

Cons

So much nepotism going on here. People in leadership are usually nightmarish. Promotions usually depend on how well liked or well connected you are rather than skill and demonstrated ability. Flexibility depends entirely upon the college or unit you work for. Ineptitude is ignored and competence is rewarded with more work for the same pay.
