Pros

The severance package is pretty good.

Cons

We were acquired by Moody's at which time an announcement was made no layoffs. I've been through many acquisitions, and there is usually a little transparency about this stuff, and they did a layoff only a year prior. Then I was called into a meeting about standard monthly processing, which was a layoff instead. Again, I'm used to a bit of honesty. I was not allowed to pack my own stuff at my desk, instead they mailed it in a box with a hole in it, two weeks later, after picking out what they wanted to keep. About $500 worth of stuff, including a stylus and its charger (not stored together at the desk), a large roll of art pens, a pack of maxi pads (clearly, they could not think this was company property) and a sit stand desk never made it. If you work there, keep nothing of value at your desk. Carry it with you at all times. You may not get to go home with it,

Pros

Decent benefits and pay. A decent focus on work/life balance, especially outside of IT. Support for remote work location is better than most other places.

Cons

Senior IT management sets a negative example by being very political. Senior level MDs are quick to through juniors under the bus. No sense of ownership of the bad, only the good.

Pros

"Flexible" hours working 12 plus hours 7 days per week any time of the day. Management that care about top and bottom line like their life depends on it.

Cons

Management loves to play lip service from DEI to ESG to work life balance. They will say please take care of your health in one sentence, then serve your overlords at all cost the next. CFO leads by coming back the day after his wife gave birth. Obviously, family don't come first at Moody's. Only money and labor matters. It shows with bottom level analysts working at the office until midnight or more when things are normal pre-Covid and invading Saturday and Sunday nights during Covid. The management would send out surveys to employees asking them how they are doing then turn around either do nothing for years or just complains why the internal score is so bad. If they donated $10k to charity, they will make sure the whole world knows about it.
