Pros

the management is great, and working environment is very professional. everyone is very nice, helpful, and most have the same goal to help the firm grow. each day is different, as you never know what to expect and the employees are very fun to be around. makes coming to work each morning very enjoyable.

Cons

sometimes difficult to have time off...RFE program is well-thought out, but it can be extremely difficult to obtain the top levels in order to achieve your bonuses. not much guidance is given aside from self taught / instructional videos you watch online.

Pros

Morgan Stanley is a very large company with alot of advancement opportunities.

Cons

I chose to be a financial advisor trainee and the turnover rate for this position is nearly 80% and are basically given 3 months in production to make or brake an almost impossible sales goal. If you know alot of people with money you should have no problem. Managers also treat you as the statistic just to meet hiring goals. Great opportunity for the right person but just don't get to comfortable unless you are a sales superstar.

Pros

Generally has a good reputation in the industry. Compensation levels are comparable to other companies.

Cons

Poor leadership and higly stratified environment. A great deal of emphasis placed on title and level. Big differences in what you will experience depending on who your management team is. Very insular and clicky - reminded me of high school. You will go through a very long hiring process. Approximately 5 to 10 rounds of interviews depending on group and level. Very hard to get hired from outside above the vice president level. There are many different of work life balance programs available, however, they are more likely to be supportive of women wanting modified work arrangements then men. In genereal you MUST be very good at navigating internal politics to survive and especially advance.
