Pros

Good company to work for. You could build a good career and work till retirement with satisfaction. This is a employee friendly organization and place to be if you are planning long term career.

Cons

Growth and opportunity depends on the team you work in. You compensation and growth depends on the visibility and importance of your project in the organization. This is one of the reasons you get different feedback from different employees.

Pros

Like going to a prestigious school, having Morgan on your resume can open doors.

Cons

Pretty hard to get promoted here and not a lot of job growth. Think of it as a stepping stone to better things. For most people that's what to expect. It is also a very formal place, you need to watch how you act. Management is in it for itself, more so than at other companies I have worked.

Pros

Morgan Stanley has pretty great name recognition so it will look good on your resume for future employers. The people you work with are usually helpful and the benefits are good.

Cons

1. For a multinational powerhouse, they have the absolute worst obsolete technology imaginable. We're talking early 90's at best. Almost nothing is automated and the functions that are automated don't work half the time. If your clients want to transfer money online, just tell them to stick with their bank because they probably won't be able to do it here for another 10 years. 2. Very little support for new financial advisors. It's very difficult to get a straight answer on anything. 3. Very complex fee structure for clients that constantly changes. 4. Overly strict company policies make it very difficult to provide the level of service that clients deserve.
