Lot of people at MS expects us to work on Saturdays or late. Dress code. Open office.

Excellent environment. Very knowledgeable co-workers and managers. They are also on the cutting edge in technology, incorporating new designs and ideas in all products. Management is easy to contact and the company itself is very open. Managers are very friendly and open and willing to sit down and discuss any concerns you may have. There are also plenty of projects for people to work on and they keep you busy; you are not twiddling your thumbs in the corner.

Cons

Work hours can be long during crunch times. Current economic situation doesn't help. Can be disheartening to see the stock drop over a week.

Good money, great place be if you are very career minded. Lots of very intelligent and hard-working people that you can learn from. Not too much corporate bullcrap - for a company of 50,000 strong, its remarkably nimble.

Cons

Work-life balance is hopeless, this is no different to any other US investment bank however. If you are a geek that just wants to play with computers this job will not be for you, as MS expects business-focused people in all support jobs. And never forget that those that make the money, rule the roost. Most of these complaints can be applied to other investment banks however.
