Pros

Opportunity to work in a healthcare environment. You interact with patients.

Cons

The pay is awful compared to the workload. Management shows no support for staff.

Pros

This is easy; (1) the rates are not bad*, (2) benefits come from the client (my location) so if you can stomach it, great benefits, (3) You will be around some of the sweetest, most lovely coworkers and customers you can imagine, (4) a nice potential sense of community, and (5) pretty accommodating and flexible around work hours, opportunities for overtime (at an excellent rate)--given you have the time.

Cons

(1) Deceiving, and exploitative management. You will not be taken care of as an employee. Very few requests are met, and there's not enough communication. The managers use PTO without consent, and put in the bare minimum amount of work when it comes to taking care of employees--nothing gets done on time (2) Speaking about not being taken care of, this company will overwork you and will punish you for any time needed away from work. (3) You are expected to travel to work in inclement weather, including winter storms. (4) There are a lot of loopholes that come with promises within the job description--I.e. "no weekends off", or "sign-up bonus!" They make you work alternative weekends; your sign-up bonus actually is withheld within 3-6 month timespans, and they're not trustworthy when giving full bonuses to some employees. (5) The final and BIGGEST con is that they are very exploitative of non-native ESL speakers, special needs staff, and any employee who proves to be consistent and reliable. Some employees do not get days off at all, and none of us ever received the "15-minute rest breaks" paid on the clock alongside the unpaid 30-minute lunch. Invisible disabilities and injuries were villainized if not overlooked or undermined.
