Pros

Great company to work for. Some challenges for the day to day operations but with good planning and company investment in Training and equipment it’s getting the challenge accepted. Operation hours are very good and gives the flexibility to beat traffic and get Dr appointments or manage daycare needs that requires early reach. Little turnovers by employees.

Cons

Pay is not the best but the average years worked by employees compensate for the pay as it goes up with the years worked.

Pros

The plant is close to home. In general the salt business is steady, no wild swings like the automotive sector.

Cons

The company has been on a long term downhill run. Too many different owners all trying to wring more profits. The recent acquisition by Stone Canyon may well push Morton over the cliff of no return. Always the rally cry of needing to do more with less. Then there's the constant erosion of pay and benefits; pension gone, defined contribution gone, and healthcare costs go up. Used to be a good place to work.

The products that this American-built brand creates are the best in the business. The industrial plants are full of great people that have a true passion for what they do.

Cons

The corporate culture creates a very taciturn, combative, and unhelpful workplace wherever it touches. Communication is rare, and cooperation is practically nonexistent.
