Pros

Heartland has been a very good place to work for most of my years here. The benefits are great with a top-notch wellness program that provides 2 fitness centers, personal training, access to dietitians, health screenings, and educational classes all for FREE! There is also the potential to earn bonuses each quarter. Many of the people are very friendly, and up until recently, I have felt like those in management cared about me and my well-being.

Cons

Things have definitely been changing around here over the past year or two. A ton of work and money have been spent in areas that are not necessarily working out, and the rest of us are pinching pennies. We have even been told to watch how many post-it notes we are using! People who leave are not being replaced, so it is creating a high level of stress for many departments. Micromanaging is out of control. People are being told at a very detailed level how to look, how to speak, how to create materials, and even how to think. Those who do not fit into their mold are reprimanded and/or fired. You certainly aren't allowed to have a bad day here, or if you are, you had better put a plastic smile on your face and fake it!

Pros

My coworkers are amazing, hardworking and wonderful.

Cons

Upper management is clue less about what lower staff needs to do their jobs. They also try to work staff to the point of burnout and give very few rewards for all the lower staffs efforts. Plus upper management is heard from frequently but is very rarely seen. You get orders from an invisible force that knows nothing about your job or what you need to do it. All your told is that you need to do better with less and that you need to work more to make up for all the staff they are loosing due to burn out from overwork and very little benefits.
