Unethical Sales and Low pay

CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

-At face value the company has great products, goals, etc -They pick middle managers that are people oriented and care about their employees -There are rewarding aspects about the job, even though it is finance they have enough products that you can solve most (not all) situations for members -You make long term relationships with members who become your regulars

Cons

-Work life balance is non-existent. Most days run from 9am to 630 or even 7pm. Saturdays are extremely difficult to get covered. -Working with members can be great or horrible. A lot of the tougher situations arise from poor MACU policies or actions, however the company never takes responsibility, leaving branch employees to spend hours apologizing without solutions. Members get very mad. - Upward movement is near impossible. They don't care how much education or experience you have, it's literally who you know. Moving from a branch to corporate is actually impossible, even for entry level roles. -Raises are very low, you can be a top 10 performer and the yearly raise is 30 cents per hour while the CEO has bought all his family homes (public knowledge). The weird thing is that if you get promoted from FSR (loan officer) to FSR-2 you get no raise and if you get promoted again to Assistant Branch Manager, you actually take a pay cut. They don't understand compensation at all. -Corporate departments are a mess. Sometimes I would spend 45 mins to 1 hour on hold waiting to reach someone at corporate to get a 10 second answer. Keep in mind members would be sitting in front of you waiting. They tried fixing this by getting rid of extensions and doing an automated phone tree, which was a disaster and increased wait times. -Sales is unethical. Everyone gets commission/bonuses even the managers, but the metrics for all roles do not align or put members first, so people cut corners and ultimately do not care what they have to do if it results in a bonus. Unethical sales practices on our team were reported and nothing was done. I even had multiple managers to tell me to just lie on the lending applications so they would get approved, -Lending is the worst, they use risk based lending which means whoever underwrites decides if they are willing to take the risk that day. There is no guideline for lending. I have seen near identical applications, one gets approved another gets denied, with no logic behind it. The issue with this is that loan officers get commission on approved loans, so they always lie about income or other things to make the loans look less risky to get approved. -Branch managers are never at the branch. The amount of lunches they go to with other branch managers or regional managers is crazy. Assistant managers run the branches by themselves, and trying to get assistance is really tough. This is not an isolated incident either, there are big region chats where employees talk and it is a common theme.
