Laid back culture but with driven people, which is a rare find. The company is growing and has a great business model and a huge market opportunity, so it is very exciting to be in now before it turns into something much bigger. Because the company is still small I have the ability to make a very big impact and to help shape things. The other significant positive about Axis is the leadership. Having come from companies with terrible leadership, I now look out for this quality like a hawk. Poor leaders are basically a dealbreaker for me. Axis has a really unique and intelligent set of people at the top. The founder has a deep development background but, unlike most developers, he really understands the market. The leadership team as a whole really understands how to nurture all parts of the company and they have a very good "open door" policy - meaning they welcome input from employees on any topic. That leadership quality along with the freedom they provide the great employee culture makes Axis THE ideal work environment for me. I am loving this job more than any I've ever had.
