Cons
Job is physically harder than you think, and your working outside when its really hot or raining hard. The most important thing is getting the route done, its a LOT of work to do the way your asked to do it (the right way). You face balancing quantity with quality; to stay on time or not get fired, you'll need to find what's just 'good enough', generally you'll be going as fast as you can without a break. Most guys pee in a bottle in the truck rather than take the time to find a facility, because that's the pressure. Generally you'll work 50 or more hours a week, which is great short term, forever not so much. In the winter, the off season, the sun goes down earlier so instead of struggling with getting extra work done to deal with increased pest activity the summer brings you're racing to finish before it gets dark. Employee turn over is very high, every year is practically a new branch. There really isn't opportunity for advancement in the sense that being really good at the job will move you into something better, like an apprentice to journeyman; as a tech your doing a job that doesn't require much skill, its a labor position and treated accordingly.
