Pros

1. Product - The product has a great roadmap and is a leader in its field, as shown by many Gartner reports. 2. Leadership - The leadership have impressive backgrounds, strong academic credentials and bring insightful perspectives from their past at tech titans like Google, Facebook and Oracle. The leadership team are friendly and open, and you will be building a network with people who are going to go on and have hugely successful careers. 3. People - I would go into work every day and safely say that I was genuinely friends with colleagues from different departments. This is a great job if you would like to join a relatively established company that has set procedures and has figured lots of things out, while still being within an industry that is experiencing growth.

Cons

MuleSoft has now grown to such a size that you can longer drive the broader business impact that you could before. The levels of management have substantially increased, and progression across the business for entry level positions is getting slower and slower. They may be able to offer short-term bumps in salary and title, but they cannot offer genuine and rapid progression in terms of responsibility. MuleSoft is no longer a 'start-up'. While it's still a better growth environment than IBM or Oracle, if you are looking to wear many hats, build a broad base of skills and drive a massive impact, then this is no longer the place for you. It was an open secret internally that MuleSoft are on the 60th percentile in terms of pay within the technology industry. In my mind, they do not have the brand equity or progression options to justify paying you less.

Thanks for taking the time to share a comprehensive review of your experience. I'm so pleased you felt a strong connection with your colleagues and were inspired by the leadership team here. Leadership is an important component of the company, in particular the Account Development team, and we're always looking for ways to improve how we train and develop the next generation of leaders. We're not perfect by any means, but I truly believe we're getting better every day at this. People do in fact have an opportunity to make a real impact here, and our growth actually affords more opportunities for this, because the more we grow, the more challenges arise that need creative solutions. I'm unsure where you learned information about how we pay in comparison to other companies in the industry, as rewarding top talent accordingly is a priority, and we regularly review data from broader industry surveys and compensation reviews to ensure pay and benefits are highly competitive. However, it means a lot to me that overall, you enjoyed your time with MuleSoft, and I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

- Autonomy to do what's required - Really interesting and motivating to be part of a company that's growing so quickly and moving at such speed - You get a very good sense that everyone is in it together - Impressed with the leadership - both here in London and in San Francisco - Small touches, such as a free (tasty) lunch twice a week and a fridge full of communal food and drink do help - Interview process - was amazing! 6 interviews sounds like a drawn-out process but every person I met and every stage made me want to join more

Cons

- Unstructured - which isn't necessarily con if you are also happy operating without too much structure - As the company is so focussed on growth, sometimes there isn't time/headspace to share knowledge, consolidate lessons learned etc - Work / life balance - can be a difficult balance to achieve in all jobs, especially ones where there's so much opportunity
