Pros

Good benefits, collaboration between departments, experience in a fast paced environment, opportunity for growth, excellent educational opportunity. Working with patients and endeavoring to assist in their health and overall well-being was a positive life changing experience. Team work a necessity, feels like you gain a second family.

Cons

A lot of cutbacks, and lack of consistency. Increase of double the work for half the pay, old employees fired while younger newer employees hired in order to cut costs. Employees very overworked in turn affecting moral and motivation within department. Transparency very limited, management within particular departments not often present.

Pros

The talented people who care about what they do and patient care. Continuing education. The salaries are very competetive. Work family culture. Employees work very hard.

Cons

Politics among leadership at the cost of other's jobs and outsourcing many areas. Supposedly all in the name of patient care, but patient satisfaction scores do not improve and organization continues to have the highest pricing and costs in the state

Improving patient satisfaction scores and reducing the cost of our services have both been significant challenges. We are committed to achieving better quality, better service and lower costs for our patients while creating a better environment for our employees.

Pros

Decent-sized company with potential of lateral transfers.

Cons

Don't you dare get any funny ideas about standing up for yourself if you work here. This company will find a way to get rid of you, in any way possible. They don't want good work ethics, great customer service skills or reliability. They only care about hiring a body to do the job for the smallest pay possible. They will keep employees who are outwardly racist, prejudiced, rude and reckless (even in the face of patient complaints) - as long as they are "in" with the manager. There is also a very high turnover rate and very low morale.

Your description of the work environment does not reflect MultiCare’s values or our desired organizational culture. As a current employee, you have access to confidential resources to report behaviors of concern or unsafe conditions. These include the online risk management systems and Employee Relations. While we do have units where turnover is higher than we would like, our 2015 turnover is trending below 10% for all employees and for Staff RNs – our largest employee population. This is significantly better than the national benchmark for other integrated healthcare systems.
