Pros
Biggest employer in Pierce County. Leader in the HealthCare industry, especially with Electronic Health Records. Many people have worked there at least 20 years.
Cons
When many people have worked there 20 years, there is not much new blood. There is a "MultiCare Way" seat of the pants management style in the middle ranks. Fresh ideas from the ranks are shot down before they go anywhere. Even incompetent workers have a safe harbor. Feedback is futile because of defensiveness of the "MultiCare Way." Some concepts like "changing the oil" regularly seem so foreign it is very alarming.
