Pros

They provide free food every couple of weeks.

Cons

A truly awful and frustrating experience at the Austin facility (RBM). Heavy micro-managers, want to know the work you do, to the hour. They encourage you to ask questions but then say you are not understanding things well enough when you ask questions. Supervisors have unrealistic expectations not meshing with their mess of a training program or with what other labs teach. I feel like my supervisor is never on my side; I was given a false image of the situation during the interview.

Pros

I get a lot of PTO. I get paid well for the amount of work I have to do, but most of the time I don't do a lot of work.

Cons

See pros. No one seems to care about us even though the lab makes the rest of the company function. The company grew quickly and there was a lot of internal hiring of unqualified people. Out of the managers that I know, very few do an acceptable job. A lot of good employees come and go, and some bad ones seem to stick around.

Pros

The mission of the company keeps people there even when their compensation should drive them out of the company. That speaks a lot about the mission. Workers believe in the life saving mission of the company, and in the quality of the work being done. Great benefits.

Cons

It is unclear whether or not upper management believes in the mission of the company as much as the regular every day worker. I know at the end of the day it is all business, but it is disheartening when leadership clearly have the almighty dollar in mind, and all the lower level employees are trying to figure out how to best serve the patient in spite of upper management. Upper management does not reflect the demographics of the rest of the company. Too few women are in upper management.
