If you're rolled off a project, the company typically keeps you on the bench for about two weeks. During that time, they may provide one interview opportunity, but in many cases it appears to be only a formality. Regardless of how well you perform, there is a possibility that your employment may be terminated soon afterward. Because of this, it's very important to understand the actual duration of the project before accepting an offer. The company may be willing to offer a high salary package, but the role could be tied to a short-term project. Even if you're told during the hiring process that the project is expected to last one or two years, it's worth verifying that information independently, as the actual duration may be much shorter and they don't have much projects.
