Pros

Depends on the lab you work in, but in my experience, there is a lot of flexibility with scheduling and generally healthy work culture.

Cons

Ames was shut down for an entire month because of the government shutdown, so there's always concern about government matters that are out of our control

Pros

At the Ames Research Center you will surely meet some of the most interesting and intelligent people you've ever met. You are also almost guaranteed that any problem you are working on is relevant, important, and engaging.

Cons

The pay is low for an undergraduate.
