Pros

Working for a company where the world sees your work. Office politics are welcome.

Cons

Some groups are slow to being open and developing innovative content. Focus is on bottom line and finances rather then creativity and human capital.

Pros

Salary was excellent Benefits were top notch (401K, health, dental, pet insurance too!) Discounts on Comcast Services (employees got cheap cell phone plans and unbelievable deals for cable TV in the Chicago market) Great Location Downtown right off the Magnificent Mile Fantastic teamwork & comradere

Cons

Extremely long hours, not paid for overtime No scheduled lunch breaks in the newsroom (you eat at your desk and keep working thru meals) Work every holiday Difficult to take any time off, have to get it approved months in advance. Internal promotions are few and far between, especially on overnight shift Celebrity takes precedence over experience when it comes to on-air talent
