Pros

Free coffee Nice roof terrace and place for breaks

Cons

Extreme hierarchical structure, means if you manager, or anyone else up the line is no good it means you suffer. Everything goes through your line manager so if you have a bad manager who wants to micro manger, you have no say on your own tasks, and have to carry on just doing as your told even if you think what you are doing is wrong. If you suggest what your manager has asked you to do is not right they can make your life hell, because as far as senior management or HR are concerned the person with the higher job title is correct and their direct reports must do as they say no matter what. Terrible office atmosphere, everyone just sits there with headphones on, its possible not to hear the person sitting next to you voice all day, you can here a pin drop. Big blame culture, which creates an horrible back covering, finger pointing approach to work. Yearly redundancies make it hard to settle and feel secure.

Pros

Apart from IT the rest of the departments are good to work for

Cons

IT is a sham, slow, unresponsive and very cynical. People are not promoted for their skill and initiative and delivery capabilities. People have risen to the level of incompetence - at least they aren't doing the work which would mean certain meltdown. bordering on corrupt. Promotion is merited on being friends with the VPs If you like football and rugby you'll get on with leadership None of the VPs in tech have any qualifications in IT or anything else. If you want to feel like you are working in fiefdom and dictatorship and have a need to know what 70s style management is then join this team. Otherwise stay well clear!!!

Pros

There are none right now

Cons

Ridiculous surveillance of days in the office. Presenteeism at its worst No consideration of work/life balance. Forced to do extra days to make up for missing the target in previous weeks. Staff morale is at rock bottom. Staff now feel that they can’t even take sick days. Days in the office being used in performance reviews
