Pros

Being an entertainment company, the work is interesting and the opportunity to be creative is always there. Decent benefits and pleasant work environment.

Cons

There is a ceiling between 'worker bee' positions and management with few pathways to make that career leap without leaving to another company.

Pros

Steve Burke has a strategic vision that he consistently communicates to the Company. For most functions, career opportunity is there for the taking. There are some great perks (Summer Fridays, pilot and film screenings, on site medical services, discounted movie tickets, to name a few).

Cons

HR has struggled since the Comcast acquisition. It's starting to settle in now but initially there was a sharp decline in strategic HR business partnering and a huge talent drain. The function seems to have stabilized now and is working to rebuild capability.

Pros

In today's environment, I feel lucky to work for a company like NBC Universal. Comcast finishing the buyout has made things feel like they're starting to move in the right direction.

Cons

Things often seem a step or two behind. At the end of the day, it's a massive corporation and you can often feel that.
