Pros

The people you don’t directly work with are cool.

Cons

Mid level managers don’t have experience, training, or interpersonal skills to be human. Get your experience and get out.

Pros

Reasonably good pay and benefits. Some feeling of solidarity. Great co-workers. Some reasonable ability for upward mobility, with caveats.

Cons

The corporate nature could be a pro or con. There is a lot of weight given to "the market" where money is perceived as tight, even as record profits are announced. If you are not a finance person the strategic thinking and constant emails about leadership can feel incredibly disconnected from the realities of the day to day operation.
