Very supportive workplace, excellent benefits, flexible schedule, great coworkers

Cons

Career advancement is very slow. Staff turnover is extremely low, so the only way higher positions open is through retirement.

A pot of gold or a road to nowhere...

Benefits, generous vacation time, fairly new building

Cons

If you are an actuary or one of the chosen few, you will be one of those to find the "pot of gold". If not, you are on a road to nowhere as far as opportunities to advance and the way you will be treated by management.. Prepare to be micromanaged and managed by fear and anger. A few who were able to advance quickly from entry level positions have a spouse in a higher position. That is absolutely unacceptable. While there are some nice people working there, there are many more who are backstabbers. The concept of teamwork is frequently talked about but seldom practiced.

Pros

Coworkers and benefits are definitely very good. It's a great place to work for and I've definitely felt respected and appreciated all the time.

Cons

Not many cons about the workplace. People can be odd and selfish at times, but I've overall had a great experience with NCCI. No place will ever be perfect, but this is definitely trying to be at all times.
