Mid-level management treats BAs as disposable. The team I worked on churned through 6 or 7 in two years.
My manager consistently stacked my workload until I had too much to do, and then seemed offended if I suggested it was too much. Meanwhile, developers would play video games in the break room. The manager typically gave vague assignments to BAs, but expected us to intuit exactly what the manager requested and we were criticized if we asked too many questions.
The lead developer on the team was consistently rude to the BAs and intermittently yelled at them and sometimes even the client, but BA's were blamed for any friction in the team. We were not allowed to make any decisions without running it by the lead developer, even if the developer arrived hours late. And the developer was frequently rude as we asked questions and criticized us for asking to many.
