Pros

For scientific training, NIH is overall a great place to work. The resources for research are the best you will find in the country. There is the opportunity to interact with scientists from many different fields in the biological sciences and the possibility to attend an abundance of scientific and training seminars.

Cons

For postdoctoral scientists, it is difficult to transition from NIH to academia or industry.
