Pros

NIH is an excellent place to work for those who has family and want that work and life balance.

Cons

Employee salaries do not match up with the work and skill levels of the staff. It's really all about who you know and what connection you have. A place where networking can result in a promotion or pay raise.

Pros

Higher salary than other university positions. Work environment is great with full access to high-tech equipment in laboratories.

Cons

Less pressure on working...independent but low productivity. Some PIs are horrible.
