Pros

NIH has one of the largest medical research centers in the world and the ability to train students in a diversity of applications.

Cons

The biggest con is that it has a government feel to it, things can be very bureaucratic. For students, sometimes it is hard to get connected to certain opportunities that have good structure to them.

Pros

challenging projects - meaningful work - huge place with lots of opporutunities. I was a part of an intern program that was a tremendous opportunitiy and provided me a lot of growth.

Cons

There is a lot of red tape (aka. government). There are many processes in place that are old and inefficient.
