Pros

Employee Discount Store. Life at Nike outside of the IT organization is radically superior.

Cons

The IT organization is a sweat shop with very poorly managed programs and no regard for work / life balance. Get used to 60+hour weeks and forget about taking advantage of the Summer Hours where the rest of Nike takes off at noon on Fridays. Salaries and benefits are sub standard. Culture is extremely passive-agressive and feels like you're back in high school. The business units that IT supports make incredibly unrealistic demands and the ineffectual IT management bows to their every whim with no regard to the impact of their staff. 60 hour work weeks are common for FTEs getting paid for 40 and can peak to 70-80 hours for critical deadlines due to poor planning. The Digital group works some of their teams (2) 8 hour shifts per day to meet the demands of their business partners. How is this sustainable and humane? To say Nike is a heavily matrixed organization is an understatement. There are no accurate org charts published and most business units run as their own fiefdoms that shun centralization of common functions as they don't want to be told what to do. Ratio of contractors is too high compared to FTEs with little regard for the ROI of experienced staff on future projects.

Pros

-Gym access if you're into that -Brand name recognition -Generally creative people

Cons

-Extremely toxic, outdated leadership across the board -Micro + macro aggressions -Retaliation + discrimination -Pay cuts through a sneaky 'title bump' restructure -No actual innovation, openness to creativity, or interest in pushing design forward
