Pros

Great work environment, beautiful campus, cafeterias, fitness centers. Very good benefits and PTO. Obviously a globally respected company.

Cons

It's a boys club. Women are often overlooked for promotions within the company. Just look at leadership teams and the history of promoting women. I've seen a couple of other posts here about it's not what you know, it's who you know. Completely true. There's a couple of very powerful political groups within Nike and if you're in with them and kiss the right ass you'll go places. Too many qualified people overlooked for promotions who are deserving of them. The company has changed a great deal, and not for the better the past 18 months. It used to be a real special place to work, now it's just a place to work. Sad because it was really, really good. Many veterans are not respected despite what people like Nelson say.

Pros

3 gyms on campus. Summer friday and wellness week and can watch sports at work.

Cons

The constant threat of layoffs due to the Incompetence of leadership and not understanding the heart of Nike. And if you survive layoffs your career growth is stunted. Only a select few move up as they have been chosen not due to merit, but because they are liked. The infighting that causes lack of communication. I don’t trust what any smiling VP says anymore. The mission Phil and Bowerman set out to do is gone. Do they sell shoes? Sure. But the good days have been gone for years.

Pros

Discount, pretty good benefits, and kind and hardworking employees. In the past, there were a lot of opportunities for career growth, but it has been a few years now since that has felt true.

Cons

It is evident that for the most part, the highest rungs of leadership do not care about their employees. They make poorly-planned, control-based decisions (for example, return-to-office mandates that lack thorough or evidence-based explanations). Tech departments leave a lot to be desired and devices/internet/VPN truly do not work as well as they should for such a successful company. Leaders do not have a solid grasp on what the orgs beneath them actually do day-to-day, and this shows in the way layoffs have shaken out.
