Pros

• Work/Life balance (less competitive salary reflects this) • Movement within the company

Cons

• Many folks have worked decades at Nike and have lost their competitive knowledge edge. • I walked in passionate and will be leaving the company depleted. There’s not a lot to learn here, top heavy, over-complicated “matrix.” • Forced relocation can be hard if you’re moving from a big city. Portland is small and even smaller with the volume of Nike employees everywhere. Overall if you want to feel comfortable and your life priority is work/life balance at a less competitive salary, this is the place for you! If you are ambitious and want to learn, grow and push yourself to do new innovate things and be around others who have that same drive, you’ll easily lose who you are and feel disappointed.

Pros

A lot of talented people, good benefits, pretty flexible work schedule.

Cons

Choosing not to offer full remote option long term. Not great pay unless you're Sr. Director or higher, and with cost of living in PDX it doesn't add up. A LOT of movement/restructuring. Before they can land a re-org / company direction, their on to the next one!

Pros

Nike was a great place to grow my career. There are endless opportunities and they spend a lot of time training leadership which I really appreciated. You get to work on really interesting problems and there are some amazing perks on campus.

Cons

Nike is a place where people dream of for their career, which means most people never truly disconnect from work. Lots of long hours, burnout, and stress. Since it’s such a large company, there’s a lot of politics and duplication. While there’s always an effort to simplify the work, it rarely happens.
