Pros

Nike corporate has some perks like discounts on merchandise, help with phone bills, some generic full-time employment benefits.

Cons

If you get sold on a multi-region, multi-VPC architecture, don't be surprised when you don't find it at Nike. They don't trust their developers, force mandates, claim participation in the open source community but often bar engineers from contributing, learning and collaborating with the community at large. Change is slow, in some cases stagnant. Many cases, the current tools and vendors have little to no knowledge or best practices on site. Engineering is not solving any cutting edge problems or using any proven methods to improve engineering practices. If you like being an engineer more than climbing a corporate ladder, this is not a place for you.

Pros

Nice facilities, great campus, gyms and many on-campus amenities. Some interesting work.

Cons

Management clearly does not communicate well in engineering. There is definite political animus towards the engineering groups. Lots of fiefdoms - ineptness and selfishness abound here. All levels of management suffer horribly from 'groupthink' and are afraid of being different or disagree with the 'herd.' CTO isn't leading and has a predictable litany every year at employee-all meetings.

Pros

Great campus and very good amenities. Decent perks and benefits. Amazing gym.General ambience is friendly. Savvy business owners. Skillful and talented folks at the base level in the engineering development teams.

Cons

On the digital side IT and Data, the bar for hiring and retaining managers is low. Many product and engineering managers do not understand the technology landscape well even at a high level and are unfortunately in charge of making major architectural and technical decisions. The low bar of hiring has caused people of questionable abilities to climb up the hierarchical ladder. The Data engineering and IT side seems to focus on just being agile without a sense of purpose. The appetite for considering varying /differentiating view points is low. Either you nod in agreement or you are an outcast. An unnecessary layer of product management hierarchy exists, causing much confusion to the goal and purpose of functionalities of the engineering and business teams
