Everyone seems excited to work at the company since it is growing so much. Very competitive compensation.

Could definitely have more gender equality in the office.

Pros

I have been at NIO for more than 2.5 years. I have seen a lot and worked with many people at every single level. I write this review with a perspective after just reading every review on here. It's definitely telling that the reviews represent the different phases this startup has experienced, typical of a growing company. Fortunately, many things have been done to continually make NIO (US and China) a good place to work. At NIO you are able to voice your ideas and add tremendous value. We get to wear many hats and learn new things. If you want to take on a new skillset you can do that. Almost everyone likes to joke around and are easy to be around. NIO has recently implemented career development classes. That is remarkable for a young company. The company does care about its employees. It is astonishing what NIO has been able to accomplish in less then 4 years: engineer an EV, build teams and manufacturing, launch an EV to the market. We just built the 10,000th ES8. All of this while other EV startups have failed. This was only possible with smart, talented and hard working people. There are virtually no 'jerks' at NIO. Everyone comes from a good place. That is very important to me since I have worked at plenty of Silicon Valley companies with abrasive or toxic culture. The recent management change (exit of Padma) can be seen as a positive outlook. I wish Padma the best in her next adventure. I believe NIO will continue to be stronger. These type of changes are a natural progression of a growing company.

Cons

NIO seems to be undergoing some teenage growing pains. As others have mentioned, there needs to be better alignment between the China and US operations. In my assessment over the last few years, this is the main problem. Fortunately, with the the recent change I believe William Li will make this a priority.
