Pros

None, except nice property around the building.

Cons

Being in the insurance industry for many years NJM’s reputation was highly rated. I had worked at another carrier for the bulk of my career, and thought NJM was a quality carrier. What a mistake I had made accepting their position. After years of enduring changes to work flow, scheduling, location in office vs. working from home I realized I was burning out - you are answering calls one after another. You’re flipping your mental handling of calls from irate, yelling, belittling customer service calls to happy customers wanting quotes. It is not an easy task to switch your mental capacity from atrocious to amiable from one call to the next. Pay is basic, I’ve seen other reviews stating the pay and benefits are good - my response to that is if you need to build a career and have nothing else NJM is a good place to start, as for other benefits PTO is awarded but good luck using it, also 401k’s don’t really qualify as a “benefit” most companies offer that as well. Basically NJM’s benefits are nothing more than you would get anywhere else. Advancement is a mystery, when you apply for other positions to get higher pay you may not even hear back on your internal application. They already know who they want - and they don’t advocate how you can prepare yourself for advancement. And if your a smoker be prepared to drive off property at your lunch - no smoking not even in your car on the entire property. They have acres of ground - non designated for smokers. Also you could use all that property to contribute to our climate issue by putting up solar panels to contribute to the communities your properties are part of.
