Pros

I have been with the company for over 30 years. Safe work environment, great medical and dental plan, 401K, pension plan, 32 vacation days and holidays. If you prove yourself you can do well. Golf league and bowling league and an annual company sponsored dinner for 25 year employees.

Cons

Can be a micromanaged at times. Loss of pension plan to new employees but times do have to change to stay competitive and plan for the overall future.

Pros

Great Benefits - changing no longer what it was. Good salaries - no more increases in your salary End of Year Bonus - that's going away soon I bet. Free Soup. - then they feed you leftovers for days

Cons

Take a walk down the halls at NJM and here's what you will see: mostly white employees, very few Hispanic employees unless you count the cleaning staff and lots of miserable unhappy looking employees.

Pros

Benefits Package (although that is changing) Stable Company Well Kept Facility

Cons

I have worked at NJM for nearly ten years. In the beginning my experience was generally positive, but that quickly changed. Through the years I've learned that it is very much a "who you know" company. Promotions are mainly given to the friends of the current management team and there is little emphasis placed on an individuals education or how well an employee does. High School diploma, Associates degree? No problem, you're chances of being promoted are probably greater than those with a Bachelors or some type of advanced degree. If you are someone who stands in line, shakes your head yes and offers little more, you should do well. NJM is for you. If you are creative and offer your opinion, and question the status quo you will quickly recognize that NJM is not for you. Management is stuck in the past. They talk about change and point to minor advancements as being monumental. The fact is the company spins it's wheels. The mid-level workers are very committed and try to move the company forward but run into the roadblocks set by management. A recent change to the compensation policy could potentially cap an employees salary. That policy does not pertain to Officers and Managers in the company. They preach "team and family" but chose to protect themselves (and their escalating salaries) instead being subject to what applies to every other employe. Pure hypocrisy.
