Decent place to work

Pros

- Management is more lenient and supportive than other insurance companies. - Best health benefits in industry - You are not guilted for using the given PTO

Cons

- Worst training in industry; supervisors do not know how to do your job and will direct you to more senior members of the team if questions arise - Despite being fully able to perform job functions at home, management insists on hybrid work schedule that provides no benefit to anyone involved and adds undue and unnecessary burden to staff - The workload is unreasonable as adjusters are expected to, at times for 10+ claims a day, investigate liability, negotiate settlements, resolve customer service issues, negotiate with attorneys, and be friendly to people yelling at you with colorful language - The pay for the above mentioned workload is ridiculous and many unskilled roles, like being a trainee for Enterprise Rent a Car, pay you significantly more for significantly less responsibility and an assistant manager at McDonalds is paid the same as us

Pros

The only positive for this is that you will ALWAYS have work.

Cons

- Severely under paid for the work that you are given. You can go work at any other competitor of NJM and make more money doing less work. - Management is not made up of qualified people, rather people who have sucked up or have spent a large amount of time with the company. - Career advancement opportunities are non existent. If you have any other skills and take this position, you will NOT be considered for any other positions within this company. This position and company is a dead end if you decide to take it. - Terrible balance. The company is so quick to say how they provide such great benefits, but every year, they cheapen the benefits, while getting more and more customers. The company has focused on driving profits while cutting benefits from employees. This company doesn't offer anything wild that would be work the stress that this job brings. - STRESS. That is all that is needed to summarize the position. You will be doing the same work, if not MORE, than a senior position adjuster while they make $85K+ while you work away barely making $48K. Please, consider your mental health before you decide to take this position because you will not get it back. - Customers. In attempts to soak up customers from other insurance companies, they have given dirt cheap rates to less than stellar people. This means that when you get new claims, you are dealing with some of the WORST people in the area. Unless you enjoy getting cursed out and other things, stay far from this position. -Turn Over. The position is constantly being filled. The company is incredibly short staffed because the managers who aren't qualified to be managers, can't seem quite understand why the bad work environment they created doesn't bring more people in.
