      No lay offs, decent training. Ok benifits package.

      Cons

      No accoutability of supervisors from upper management, bait and switch tactics to lure employees from other companies. EEOC violations. Below industry standard compensation.

      Scattered pieces of a very large and growing puzzle

      Pros

      National Oilwell Varco is a good place to work depending on your specific location and your position in the abundant masses of acquisitions this big company is known for. Frankly, If you are a below middle management it isn't entirely that great. Benefits are on par with industry standards. Bonuses are fair, if you get them.

      Cons

      This business enterprise is a top-heavy, acquisition hungry, enigmatic puzzle that hasn't quite got all its pieces sorted out yet. The management hierarchy here needs some really coarse tuning. Simply put, the company is in dire need of skilled professionals who invite new ideas, and who actually take action on centralized goals that promote the wellbeing of the business and its employees. Unfortunately, the politics are abundant here at NOV, but hey that is typical of any work environment. Sometimes it can be overwhelming however, you just have to pick your fights wisely.

      pay ok benefits are good. Low stress and lots of OT. company has programs to help employees also there are opportunities to move around if you want

      Cons

      Management is clueless, they waste alot of money. Pay is a little low. Manager on shop floor have no business trying to manage people. HR is poor
