Cons

I got hired on as a temporary employee and was let go for being "disgruntled" because i had a disagreement with the plant manager over something that he was supposed to be supervising. The plant manager would often times belittle me and make snide remarks about my gender and work. Within my first two weeks there he said many things to me that made me uncomfortable as a woman. He was all over the place and very disorganized and it seems that all the machinist in the area know of his reputation and do NOT want to work for him. (I always wondered why people would hardly apply). Shortly after he was hired on almost all of the employees left because they knew how awful of a boss he was. After the disagreement that me and the plant manager had he then left without saying anything and called my agency to let me go, without even discussing anything that happened. NOV tuboscope in lubbock either isint going to last much longer under his poor management or he is going to be let go soon for his terrible hot/cold attitude. I only worked there a month and had a questions about a different kind of order that was coming in and i was met with (per his words) "It just seems like you arent listening lately". Which is very disrespectful, there are so many other ways to talk to people and to give constructive criticism other than "you arent listening". I only worked there for a month, of course i am going to have questions. I got no formal training from him (aside from a small binder) or upper management and couldnt even access half of the companies systems to do my job effectively because i was a temp. The plant manager often played favorites and would talk behind peoples back about their work without directly talking to them and trying to make the place better. There were many temp employees hired who after working there for a week quit because of the poor conditions and the way the plant manager would speak to them. The only good thing about this place was the pay and the benefits. If you can last long enough past the bipolar plant manager you may have a shot but you have to play the game and keep your distance from management.
