      Not s place for a career in software development.

      Pros

      There are a lot of good solid individuals to work with. Team atmosphere is good.

      Cons

      As an oil services company, NOV is not a particularly good place for a career in software development. The management does not understand the process and show no inclination to change their management style to support it.

      Great people but still has a glass ceiling for women

      Pros

      I really enjoyed working with so many of the people at NOV. Benefits and PTO are good. Training opportunities have improved with on demand and in person training and the company will pay for education reimbursement. There are improvements in the works to improve consolidated reporting and transactions.

      Cons

      NOV is making some strides to improve opportunities for women but there is still work to be done - there are few women at the top level. Women are not paid the same as men for similar roles and often get overlooked for promotions in my personal experience and noting fro other colleagues. NOV is way behind in some aspects of technology and collaboration overall like taking so long to standardize processes across business segments and ledgers, but some departments are better than others. There are still siloed areas that limit progress. The internal changes have caused some customer services challenges.

      Good health benefits. 401K match

      Cons

      Have been working for 13 years with $6 pay raise. Poor management, asking to do more task without pay. There is no incentives for international travel. There is no work life balance. Senior employees are leaving.
